Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh anggota pemuda yang berada pada tahap individual reflektif (18-30 tahun) menurut teori tahapan pertumbuhan iman berdasarkan James W Fowler, dimana pemuda mulai melepaskan diri dari norma dan menjauhkan diri dari persekutuan.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pertumbuhan iman pemuda berdasarkan James W. Fowler tahap 4 di Jemaat Rante Lombongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan deskriptif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan iman pemuda di Jemaat Rante Lombongan menunjukkan perkembangan menuju tahap iman yang reflektif dan pribadi. Namun, proses ini terhambat karena bentuk persekutuan yang ada tidak lagi sesuai dengan kebutuhan usia pemuda, sehingga banyak pemuda menjadi tidak aktif dalam persekutuan. Oleh karena itu, gereja perlu menciptakan wadah baru yang relevan untuk mendukung pemuda membangun keyakinan pribadi yang kuat dan kontekstual. ABSTRACT This study is motivated by youth members who are at the individual-reflective stage (ages 18-30) according to James W. Fowler's stages of faith development theory, where youth begin to detach from norms and distance themselves from fellowship. The objective of this research is to analyze the faith growth of youth based on James W. Fowler's Stage 4 in the Rante Lombongan Congregation. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the faith growth of youth in the Rante Lombongan Congregation shows development toward a reflective and personal faith stage. However, this process is hindered because the existing forms of fellowship no longer suit their age-specific needs, leading many youths to become inactive. Therefore, the church needs to create new, relevant forums to support youth in building strong and contextual personal beliefs. Keywords: James W.
