Abstract

Skripsi berjudul "Kajian Teologis dan Antropologi Budaya Pengumpulan Batang Rabuk di Gereja Toraja Mamasa Jemaat Gatorani Klasis Nosu II". Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan antropologi budaya dan teologi, menganalisis hubungan tradisi tersebut dengan ajaran Kekristenan. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dengan tokoh adat, masyarakat, dan majelis gereja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan budaya pengumpulan Batang Rabuk di Gereja Toraja Mamasa Jemaat Gatorani, meski berakar pada kepercayaan leluhur, telah diintegrasikan ke dalam konteks kekristenan melalui ibadah dan kesepakatan Klasis Nosu I. Meskipun sebagian jemaat masih memandangnya sebagai warisan leluhur semata, gereja berupaya memberikan pemahaman yang tepat melalui khotbah dan diskusi, menekankan aspek penghormatan dan syukur, bukan penyembahan arwah. Skripsi ini merefleksikan pentingnya pemahaman teologi kontekstual dalam melestarikan budaya lokal tanpa bertentangan dengan ajaran Alkitab, serta peran gereja dalam membimbing jemaat memahami tradisi dalam kerangka iman Kristen. ABSTRACT Yoberlian Napa's thesis, "A Theological and Cultural Anthropological Study of the Collection of Batang Rabuk in the Toraja Mamasa Church, Gatorani Congregation, Nosu II Classis," investigates the tradition of collecting Batang Rabuk, a practice of ancestor veneration in the Nosu community. This qualitative research employs a cultural anthropological and theological approach, analyzing the relationship between this tradition and Christian teachings. Data was collected through literature review, observation, and interviews with traditional leaders, community members, and church officials. The findings reveal that this tradition, although rooted in ancestral beliefs, has been integrated into the Christian context through worship and agreements within the Nosu I Classis. While some congregants still view it solely as an ancestral legacy, the church strives to provide accurate understanding through sermons and discussions, emphasizing respect and gratitude rather than ancestor worship. This thesis reflects the importance of contextual theological understanding in preserving local culture without contradicting biblical teachings, and the church's role in guiding congregants to understand tradition within a Christian framework.
