Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji studi kasus sengketa tradisi antar Gereja Protestan Indonesia Timur (GPIT) dengan Komunitas Ada’ Mappurondo di kelurahan Lakahang, kecamatan Tabulahan, Kabupaten Mamasa. Sengketa ini mencerminkan ketegangan antara ekspresi keagamaan kristen dan Praktik tradisional yang di wariskan secara turun temurun. Fokus dalam peneltian ini hendak mengungkapkan akar permasalahan, bentuk interaksi yang terjadi, serta upaya -upaya resolusi yang dilakukan oleh kedua pihak yang terkait dan juga komunitas sekitar. metode yang di gunakan ialah pendekatan kualitatif, deskkriptif dengan teknik pengumplan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik ini tidak hanya di picu oleh perbedaan keyakinan, tetapi juga oleh perebutan ruang sosial dan makna simbolik atas tradisi, khususnya dalam ekspresi budaya seperti tarian manganda’ di tenga dinamika ini, muncul upaya dialog dan mediasi budaya yang menawarkan jalan damai berbasis pada penghargaan terhadap nilai nilai lokal dan hak spritual komunitas. Peneletian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan teologi kontekstual dan inkulturasi dalam membangun relasi agar menciptakan harmoni antara gereja denga tradisi lokal . Kata Kunci : sengketa Tradisi, GPIT, Ada’ Mappurondo, identitas budaya. ABSTRACT This study examines a case study of a tradition dispute between the East Indonesian Protestant Church (GPIT) and the Aluk Mappurondo Community in Lakahang Village, Tabulahan District, Mamasa Regency. This dispute reflects the tension between Christian religious expression and traditional practices that have been passed down from generation to generation. The focus of this study is to reveal the root of the problem, the form of interaction that occurs, and resolution efforts made by both parties involved and the surrounding community. The method used is a qualitative, descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and document studies. The results of the study indicate that this conflict is not only triggered by differences in beliefs, but also by the struggle for social space and symbolic meaning of tradition, especially in cultural expressions such as the Manganda dance. In the midst of this dynamic, efforts at cultural dialogue and mediation have emerged that offer a peaceful path based on respect for local values and the spiritual rights of the community. This study recommends a contextual theological approach and inculturation in building relationships in order to create harmony between the church and local traditions.
