Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Satap 5 Gandangbatu Sillanan. Permasalahan rendahnya motivasi belajar menjadi fokus utama dalam kajian ini, dengan mempertimbangkan indikator-indikator seperti hasrat dan keinginan untuk berhasil, dorongan dan kebutuhan dalam belajar, harapan dan cita-cita masa depan, penghargaan dalam belajar, kegiatan belajar yang menarik, serta lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan tingkat motivasi belajar yang rendah, ditandai oleh kurangnya partisipasi aktif, minimnya dorongan internal, serta ketidakmampuan menghubungkan pembelajaran dengan tujuan masa depan. Selain itu, metode pengajaran yang kurang variatif dan suasana kelas yang tidak kondusif turut memperparah situasi tersebut. Kata Kunci: motivasi, belajar, pembelajaran, guru, penghargaan. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri Satap 5 Gandangbatu Sillanan. The problem of low learning motivation is the main focus of this study, by considering indicators such as passion and desire to succeed, drive and need in learning, hopes and future ideals, appreciation in learning, interesting learning activities, and a conducive learning environment. The approach used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that most students showed a low level of learning motivation, characterized by a lack of active participation, minimal internal drive, and an inability to connect learning with future goals. In addition, less varied teaching methods and a non-conducive classroom atmosphere also exacerbated the situation. Keywords: motivation, learning, teaching, teacher, appreciation.
