Abstract

Tulisan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya konsentrasi anak dalam mendengarkan cerita Alkitab. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode mengajar yang digunakan oleh Guru Sekolah Minggu dalam menumbuhkan konsentrasi anak saat mendengarkan cerita Alkitab di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Hermon Tombang, Klasis Ulusalu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru Sekolah Minggu menggunakan metode cerita dan tanya jawab, serta sesekali menggunakan metode ceramah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah umumnya guru menggunakan metode cerita dan tanya jawab. Metode cerita lebih efektif karena disukai anak dan mampu meningkatkan fokus, sementara metode tanya jawab kurang berhasil pada anak pemalu atau yang tidak memahami cerita yang disampaikan. Guru juga berupaya menyesuaikan penyampaian cerita dengan karakter dan kebutuhan anak, meskipun masih terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan fasilitas, gangguan dari lingkungan sekitar, serta kurangnya variasi metode. ABSTRACT This paper is based on the lack of children's concentration in listening to Bible stories.Therefore, this study aims to analyse the teaching methods used by Sunday School Teachers in improving children's concentration when listening to Bible stories in the Toraja Church of Hermon Tombang, Ulusalu Clasis. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with observation, interview, and documentation techniques as data collection tools. The results showed that most Sunday School teachers used storytelling and question and answer methods, and occasionally used the lecture method. The conclusion of this study is that teachers generally use the story and question and answer methods. The story method is more effective because it is liked by children and can increase focus, while the question and answer method is less successful with shy children or those who do not understand the story being told. Teachers also try to adjust the delivery of stories to the characters and needs of children, although there are still obstacles such as limited facilities, distractions from the surrounding environment, and lack of variety in methods.
