Abstract

Memei (2420207696), judul skripsi “Posisi Perempuan dalam Budaya Masyarakat Toraja Pra-Kristen di Dusun Tondok Litak Kecamatan Sesean Suloara’ Kabupaten Toraja Utara”. Program Studi Sosiologi Agama, Fakultas Teologi dan Sosiologi Kristen, Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Toraja. Dibimbing oleh Oktoviandy, M.Si (Pembimbing I) dan Syukur Matasak, M.Th (Pembimbing II). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan tentang posisi perempuan dalam budaya masyarakat Toraja pra-kristen di dusun Tondok Litak melalui pendekatan kualitatif yang menggabungkan studi pustaka dan wawancara. Studi pustaka dilakukan dengan menelaah literatur terkait dengan skripsi, buku-buku, artikel dan jurnal sementara itu wawancara mendalam dilakukan dengan tokoh adat, ambe’ tondok, dan masyarakat yang memiliki pemahaman tentang tradisi pra-kristen. Landasan teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah perspektif feminis. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan diperoleh temuan bahwa perempuan memiliki peran yang sangat penting pada masa pra-kristen sampai dengan sekarang ini dalam struktur sosial dan budaya, meskipun posisi mereka sering terikat oleh sistem yang patriarkal. Sociology of Religion Study Program, Faculty of Theology and Christian Sociology, Toraja State Christian Institute (IAKN). This research aims to describe the position of women in the culture of pre-Christian Toraja society in Tondok Litak hamlet through a qualitative approach that combines literature study and interviews. Literature research was carried out by reviewing literature related to theses, books, articles and journals, while in-depth interviews were conducted with traditional leaders, ambe' tondok, and people who had an understanding of pre-Christian traditions. The theoretical basis used in this research is a feminist perspective. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was found that women had a very important role from pre-Christian times to the present in social and cultural structures, even though their position was often bound by a patriarchal system.
