Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan menggunakan metode snowball throwing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas atau PTK, subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIIB SMPN 1 Malimbong Balepe’. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dan memiliki empat tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap pengamatan, dan tahap refleksi. Penelitian ini dikatakan berhasil jika dari 26 siswa memiliki minat belajar yaitu minimal 80%. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, pada siklus I minat belajar siswa meningkat 8% dari kondisi awal yaitu 42% atau setara dengan 50%, kemudian meningkat pada siklus II sebanyak 38% dari 50% atau setara dengan 88% siswa yang mengalami minat belajar. Maka dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penerapan metode snowball throwing dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: Minat belajar, snowball throwing, PTK. Abstract This research was motivated by students' lack of interest in learning in Christian Religious Education subjects. This research aims to increase students' interest in learning by using the snowball throwing method. The research method used in this research is classroom action research or PTK, the subject of this research is class VIIB SMPN 1 Malimbong Balepe'. The research was carried out in 2 cycles and had four stages, namely the planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage and reflection stage. This research is said to be successful if 26 students have interest in learning, namely at least 80%. The research was carried out in 2 cycles, in the first cycle students' interest in learning increased by 8% from the initial condition, namely 42% or the equivalent of 50%, then in the second cycle it increased by 38% from 50% or the equivalent of 88% of students who experienced interest in learning. So, it can be concluded that applying the snowball throwing method in the Christian Religious Education learning process can increase students' interest in learning.
