Abstract
Abstrak Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai strategi pertumbuhan Gereja Toraja Jemaat Matangli yang tidak efektif dalam menghadapi perkembangan penganut Aluk Todolo. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti tingkat pertumbuhan jemaat yang rendah dan adanya anggota jemaat yang kembali menganut Aluk Todolo karena kepercayaan terhadap hal mistis yang lebih kuat daripada strategi pertumbuhan gereja serta program pelayanan yang tidak berjalan sistematis. Dengan demikian, tujuan yang hendak dicapai dari skripsi ini, agar majelis gereja dapat menganalisis strategi pertumbuhan yang digunakan serta mengembangkan strategi pelayanan kepada anggota jemaat. Pentingnya pendekatan yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan budaya dan kebutuhan masyarakat Toraja untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan partisipasi jemaat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi beberapa strategi kunci yang diterapkan oleh gereja, termasuk pembinaan rohani, pengembangan program pelayanan, dan keterlibatan dalam pembangunan komunitas. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Matangli Klasis Appang Batu Balepe’, yang terletak di Lembang Leppan, Kecamatan Malimbong, Kabupaten Tana Toraja, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Abstract The problem in this research is regarding the growth strategy of the Matangli Congregation's Toraja Church which is not effective in dealing with the development of Aluk Todolo adherents. This is caused by several factors such as the low level of congregational growth and the presence of congregation members who return to embracing Aluk Todolo because their belief in mystical things is stronger than the church growth strategy and service programs that do not run systematically. Thus, the aim of this thesis is that the church council can analyze the growth strategies used and develop service strategies for congregation members. The importance of an approach that is contextual and relevant to the culture and needs of the Toraja community to increase congregational involvement and participation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. This research identified several key strategies implemented by churches, including spiritual formation, ministry program development, and involvement in community development. This research was conducted at the Matangli Klasis Appang Batu Balepe' Toraja Congregation Church, which is located in Lembang Leppan, Malimbong District, Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province.
