ABSTRACT This research focuses on the contextual theological analysis of the anthropological model of gratitude within the Pa'dodakam tradition in the Ebenhaezer Rantepalado congregation of the Mamasa Toraja Church. The main issue addressed is how the meaning of the Pa'dodakam tradition, originally part of local cultural practices before the advent of Christianity, transformed into a Christian ritual. The goal of this study is to understand the significance of gratitude in this tradition through the theoretical framework of contextual theology and the anthropological model proposed by Stephan Bevans, which explores the relationship between local culture and religious expression. The research findings indicate that the incorporation of the Pa'dodakam tradition into Christian ritual not only preserves its core of expressing gratitude but also enriches the religious practices of the congregation and strengthens cultural identity. Thus, this study contributes to understanding the dynamics between local traditions and Christianity within the Mamasa Toraja Church. Keywords: contextual, Pa'dodakam, gratitude.
