Abstract

ABSTRACT Melianti Kiding Allo, 2020196579. "Analysis of the Role of the Church Using the Translation Model in a Cultural Guide Perspective in Determining Social Policy for the Community of Sa'dan Matallo Village.". Thesis. Department of Christian Theology, Faculty of Christian Theology and Sociology, State Christian Institute (IAKN) Toraja, supervised by Dr. Calvin Sholla Rupa', M.Th (Supervisor I) and Jems Alam, M.Si (Supervisor II). The aim of the research is to find out what the role of the church is from a cultural guide perspective in determining social policies in society. The role of the church is to be present in society to accompany and provide explanations to the public regarding culture carried out in society by using a translation model to convey explanations about the gospel in culture. Observing the role of the church in a cultural guide perspective, the author used qualitative methods in completing this research by using qualitative research methods to find out the meaning behind the reality that appears using a literature study approach, interview techniques and also observation by selecting six informants consisting of traditional leaders, priests, assembly and society. In this study, the author found that the results of this research prove that the role of the church is from a cultural guiding perspective in determining social policy in society. Thus, through this research, the role of the Church is here to provide education about understanding to the community, to look for sources of these teachings, then study them and provide Christian values. towards that culture. The hope that the author wants to achieve is that by examining the role of the church from a cultural guiding perspective in society it will still be maintained as a cultural identity at the same time and also be interpreted within the concept of Christianity. Jurusan Teologi Kristen, Fakultas Teologi dan Sosiologi Kristen, Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Toraja, di bimbing oleh Dr.calvin Sholla Rupa’, M.Th (Pembimbing I) dan Jems Alam, S.Th., M.Si (Pembimbing II). Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaiaman peran gereja dalam perspektif pandu budaya dalam menentukan kebijakan sosial masyarakat.peran gereja hadir dalam masyarakat untuk mendampingi dan memberikan penjelasan kepada masyarakat mengenai kebudayaan yang dilakukan dalam masyaraka dengan mengunakan model terjemahan untuk menyampaikan penjelasan mengenai injil dalam kebudayaan. Mencermati peran gereja dalam perspektif pandu budaya maka penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam menyelesaikan penelitian ini dengan mengunakan metode penelitian kualitatif untuk mengetahui makna dibalik realitas yang tampak dengan pendekatan studi pustaka, teknik wawancara dan juga observasi dengan menetapkan enam informan yang terdiri dari tokoh adat, pendeta, majelis dan masyarakat. Kajian ini penulis menjumpai bahwa hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa peran gereja dalam perspektif pandu budaya dalam menentukan kebijakan sosial masyarakat dengan demikian melalui penelitian ini disinilah peran Gereja hadir untuk memberikan edukasi tentang pemahaman kepada Masyarakat untuk mencari sumber ajaran tersebut kemudian mempelajarinya dan memberikan nilai-nilai kekristenan terhadap dalam kebudayaan tersebut. Harapan yang penulis ingin capai bahwa dengan mengkaji peran gereja dalam perspektif pandu budaya dalam masyarakat tetap dipeliahara sebagai jati diri kebudayaan pada saat yang sama dan juga dimaknai di dalam konsep kekristenan.
