Abstract
ABSTRAK Adapun masalah yaitu bagaimana pendidikan karakter dalam keluarga bagi remaja usia 12-18 tahun di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Baku. Adapun tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menganalisis pendidikan karakter dalam keluarga bagi remaja usia 12-18 tahun di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Baku. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode jenis pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teori Thomas Lickona mengenai pendidikan karakter menjadi landasan teoretis dalam penelitian ini. Menurut Thomas Lickona, Pendidikan karakter bertujuan untuk mengembangkan berbagai sifat yang dianggap positif dan bermanfaat bagi individu dan masyarakat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa orangtua telah berperan aktif dalam mengajarkan pendidikan karakter kepada anak-anak mereka. Namun, mereka menghadapi tantangan yang signifikan dari faktor eksternal, terutama pengaruh pergaulan, yang dapat mempengaruhi efektivitas pendidikan karakter yang diberikan di rumah. Kata kunci : Pendidikan karakter, orang tua, remaja. ABSTRACT The problem is how to provide character education in the family for teenagers aged 12-18 years at the Baku Congregation Toraja Church. The aim of the research is to analyze character education in the family for teenagers aged 12-18 years at the Baku Toraja Congregation Church. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Thomas Lickona's theory regarding character education is the theoretical basis for this research. According to Thomas Lickona, character education aims to develop various traits that are considered positive and beneficial for individuals and society. Based on the research results, it was found that parents have played an active role in teaching character education to their children. However, they face significant challenges from external factors, especially social influences, which can affect the effectiveness of character education provided at home.
