Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini didasari oleh persoalan pendekatan kepemimpinan yang dilakukan di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Moria Redak. Pendekatan yang terus dilakukan ialah pendekatan masalah (Problem Solving). Sebab itu gereja sulit menemukan dan mengapresiasi potensinya karena gereja terjebak dan larut dalam masalah yang dialaminya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Metode tersebut digunakan untuk melakukan pendekatan secara langsung dalam memperoleh data, yang sesuai dengan fakta lapangan. Data yang ada dalam penelitian ini, diperoleh dari penelitian pustaka, dan penelitian lapangan seperti wawancara dan observasi. Penulis melakukan wawancara dengan 13 (tiga belas) informan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa, benar proses kepemimpinan di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Moria Redak Klasis Parepare sulit menciptakan suatu kepemimpinan yang transformasional disebabkan pendekatan yang terus berfokus pada masalah. Untuk mengatasi persoalan tersebut, maka pendekatan appreciative inquiry menjadi model yang dapat merevitalisasi kepemimpinan transformasional dalam gereja. Dengan 4 langkah pada pendekatan appreciative inquiry yaitu discovery, dream, design, destiny dapat menolong pemimpin gereja dalam mengapresiasi setiap potensi mereka sehingga tercipta proses kepemimpinan gereja yang transformasional. Kata kunci: Appreciative Inquiry, Kepemimpinan Gereja, Transformasional ABSTRACT This research is based on the issue of the leadership approach carried out at the Moria Redak Congregation Toraja Church. The approach that continues to be taken is the problem approach (Problem Solving). Because of this, it is difficult for the church to discover and appreciate its potential because the church is trapped and immersed in the problems it is experiencing. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. This method is used to take a direct approach in obtaining data, which is in accordance with field facts. The data in this research were obtained from library research and field research such as interviews and observations. The author conducted interviews with 13 (thirteen) informants. The results of the research prove that it is true that the leadership process in the Moria Redak Klasis Parepare Toraja Congregation Church is difficult to create transformational leadership due to an approach that continues to focus on problems. To overcome this problem, the appreciative inquiry approach is a model that can revitalize transformational leadership in the church. With the 4 steps in the appreciative inquiry approach, namely discovery, dream, design, destiny, it can help church leaders appreciate their potential so as to create a transformational church leadership process.
