Abstract
ABSTRACT The practice of bribery has become a social disease in democratic societies. Bribery can no longer be avoided, especially at democratic parties. Various forms of bribery will be carried out by politicians, including money politics, to achieve their own interests and profits. Even though the act of bribery in the form of money politics violates the law set by the government. In addition, bribery in the Bible’s view is a violation of God’s law. The practice of money politics has harmed the democratic process, including in Toraja. Toraja society, which upholds its self-respect and noble culture, even though its population is predominantly Christian, has lost the voice of truth and honesty. It seems that the practice of money politics in Toraja can no longer be controlled, even though the Toraja people have a longko culture. Longko’ culture is a feeling of hesitation in doing something that is inappropriate or wrong. Longko’ culture is closely related to individual and group self-esteem. Therefore, the author conducted a Hermeneutics study of Micah 3:11 regarding bribery as an effort to reject money politics and its relevance to longko’ culture. In this study, the author uses the method of historical grammatical criticism so that the author is able to find the meaning of words, sentences, as well as the meaning and message of the text of Micah 3:11. The aim of the results of the hermeneutics study of Micah 3:11 is that it is hoped that the Toraja people will understand that bribery in any form, including money politics, has actually damaged their self-esteem. With a correct understanding of money politics and longko’ culture, the Torajan people will be free from bribery (money politics) at democratic parties. Keywords: Heremenutics Micah 3:11, Bribery, longko’ ABSTRAK Praktik suap telah mejadi penyakit sosial (social ills) dalam masyarakat demokrasi. Suap tidak dapat lagi dihidarikan apalagi pada gelaran pesta demokrasi. Berbagai bentuk suap akan dilakukan oleh para politisi termasuk politik uang (money politics) demi mencapai kepentingan dan keuntungan diri sendiri. Padahal tindakan suap dalam bentuk politik uang telah melanggar hukum yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah. Selain itu, suap dalam pandangan Alkitab merupakan pelanggaran terhadap hukum Allah. Praktik politik uang telah menciderai berlangsungnya pesta demokrasi, tidak terkecuali di Toraja. Masyarakat Toraja yang menjunjung tinggi harga diri dan berbudaya luhur bahkan penduduknya mayoritas Kristen telah kehilangan suara kebenaran dan kejujuran. Sepertinya praktik politik uang di Toraja tidak dapat lagi dikendalikan, padahala orang Toraja memiliki budaya longko’. Budaya longko’ adalah perasaan sungkan melakukan sesuatu yang tidak sesuai atau salah. Budaya longko’ sangat berkaitan dengan harga diri perorangan maupun kelompok. Oleh karena itu, penulis melakukan kajian Hermeneutik Mikha 3:11 tentang suap sebagai upaya menolak politik uang dan relevansinya terhadap budaya longko’. Dalam kajian ini, penulis menggunakan metode kritik gramatikal historis agar penulis mampu menemukan makna kata, kalimat, serta makna dan pesan dari teks Mikha 3:11. Tujuan dari hasil kajian hermeneutik Mikha 3:11 diharapkan agar masyarakat Toraja memahami suap dalam bentuk apapun termasuk politik uang yang sebenarnya telah merusak hargi diri. Dengan pemhaman yang benar akan politik uang dan budaya longko’, masyarakat Toraja akan bebas dari suap menyuap (politik uang) dalam gelaran pesta demokrasi.
