Abstract

Spiritualitas Kristen perlu dikembangkan dalam kehidupan anak tunagrahita yang beragama Kristen sehingga menjadi tantangan bagi guru di SLB karena harus menggunakan strategi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak tunagrahita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi guru dalam mengembangkan spiritualitas Kristen anak tunagrahita di SLB Dharma Wanita Makale Kabupaten Tana Toraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SLB Dharma Wanita Makale Kabupaten Tana Toraja dengan guru dan kepala sekolah sebagai informannya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa dalam mengembangkan spiritualitas Kristen anak tunagrahita di SLB Dharma Wanita Makale guru menggunakan tiga strategi, yaitu : strategi positive behavior suport (pemberian dukungan pada perilaku positif dan menghindari pemberian hukuman pada perilaku negatif), strategi pembelajaran kontekstual (mengaitkan materi pembelajaran dengan kehidupan nyata) dan strategi direct introduction (pemberian perintah atau instruksi). Kata Kunci : Strategi, spiritualitas Kristen, tunagrahita ABSTRACT Christian spirituality needs to be developed in the lives of mentally retarded children who are Christians so that it becomes a challenge for teachers in SLB because they have to use strategies that suit the needs of mentally retarded children. This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in developing Christian spirituality of mentally retarded children at SLB Dharma Wanita Makale, Tana Toraja Regency. This study used a descriptive descriptive research method with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. This research is located at SLB Dharma Wanita Makale, Tana Toraja Regency with teachers and principals as informants. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that in developing Christian spirituality of mentally retarded children in SLB Dharma Wanita Makale teachers used three strategies, namely : positive behavior support strategy (providing support for positive behavior and avoiding giving punishment to negative behavior), contextual learning strategy (associating learning material with real life) and direct introduction of strategy (giving orders or instructions).
