Abstract

Penulis melakukan penelitian ini karena menemukan bahwa anggota PPGT Jemaat Ebenhaezer Pondingao' sangat aktif di grup WhatsApp, namun hanya sekitar 30% yang hadir secara langsung dalam kegiatan gereja. Penulis bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana ruang ketiga digital mempengaruhi efektivitas persekutuan dan pelaksanaan Tritugas Panggilan Gereja. Penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-fenomenologi dengan wawancara kepada tujuh informan. Penulis menemukan bahwa grup WhatsApp telah berfungsi sebagai ruang ketiga digital yang nyaman dan mudah diakses, namun berdampak negatif terhadap kualitas persekutuan karena makna kehadiran mulai bergeser, hubungan antaranggota menjadi dangkal, dan pelayanan langsung semakin berkurang. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa ruang digital seharusnya menjadi pelengkap, bukan pengganti persekutuan fisik. Kata Kunci: Ruang Ketiga Digital, Efektivitas, Persekutuan Pemuda, PPGT, Gereja Toraja. ABSTRACT The writer conducted this research after finding that PPGT members of Ebenhaezer Pondingao' Congregation were very active in WhatsApp groups, but only around 30% attended church activities in person. The writer aims to analyze how the digital third place affects the effectiveness of fellowship and the implementation of the Three Calls of the Church. The writer used a descriptive-phenomenological qualitative approach by interviewing seven informants. The writer found that the WhatsApp group has functioned as a digital third place that is comfortable and easily accessible, but has a negative impact on the quality of fellowship because the meaning of presence has begun to shift, relationships among members have become shallow, and direct ministry has decreased. The writer concludes that digital space should complement, not replace, physical fellowship. Keywords: Digital Third Place, Effectiveness of Activities, Youth Fellowship, PPGT, Toraja Church.
