Abstract

Kata Kunci : Sisemba', Persaudaraan, Rekonstruksi, Budaya, ABSTRACT The sisemba’ tradition in Buntu Pepasan has experienced a shift in meaning from a symbol of brotherhood to an arena of conflict and violence, thereby threatening social harmony within the community. This condition is important to examine in order to restore cultural values that are consistent with communal life. This study aims to analyze the shift in the values of the sisemba’ tradition and reconstruct its meaning based on Stephen B. Bevans' Anthropological Model Perspective. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that modernization, changes in mindset, and the declining understanding of customary rules have contributed to the shift in the values of the sisemba’ tradition. Based on Stephen B. Bevans' Anthropological Model, the reconstruction of this tradition is carried out by strengthening the values of brotherhood, togetherness, sportsmanship, and respect for customary rules, so that sisemba’ can once again function as a means of restoring social relationships within the community. Keywords: Sisemba', Brotherhood, Reconstruction, Culture, Bevans.
