Abstract

Alber, 2020229457, “Analisis Teologis Kontekstual Terhadap Relasi Orang Hidup Dengan Orang Mati Dalam Ritual To Mebaba’ di Desa Orobua Timur Kabupaten Mamasa”. Ritiual To Mebaba’ merupakan warisan budaya masyarakat Mamasa yang masih di laksanakan oleh masyarakat Kristen di desa Orobua Timur, Kabupaten Mamasa sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap leluhur yang telah mati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap apa makna spiritualitas dalam tradisi Mebaba’ sebagaimana yang di pahami oleh masyarakat Kristen setempat. Metode yang di gunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif. Data yang di peroleh melalui observasi, wawancara secara mendalam, dan dokumentasi bersama dengan tokoh adat, masyarakat, serta majelis gereja yang pernah melaksanakan ritual To Mebaba’ ini. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat saat ini memaknai ritual To Mebaba’ sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap leluhur yang telah mati. Makna spiritual yang di temukan yaitu bagaimana cinta dan kasih sayang serta rasa hormat terhadap orang yang di kasihi tidak pernah hilang dalam kehidupan setiap masyarakat. Dengan demikian, ritual To Mebaba’ di maknai sebagai bentuk spiritual yang kontekstual yang mempertemukan warisan budaya masyarakat dengan penghayatan iman Kristen dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci : To Mebaba’, spiritual, penghormatan, kehidupan masa kini. ABSTRACT Alber, 2020229457, "Contextual Theological Analysis of the Relationship Between the Living and the Dead in the To Mebaba' Ritual in East Orobua Village, Mamasa Regency". The To Mebaba' ritual is a cultural heritage of the Mamasa people that is still practiced by the Christian community in East Orobua Village, Mamasa Regency, as a form of respect for deceased ancestors. This study aims to uncover the meaning of spirituality in the Mebaba’ tradition as understood by the local Christian community. The method used is qualitative research. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with traditional leaders, community members, and church elders who have performed this To Mebaba’ ritual. The research results indicate that the current community interprets the To Mebaba' ritual as a form of respect for deceased ancestors. The spiritual meaning found is how love, affection, and respect for loved ones never fade from the life of every community member. Thus, the To Mebaba' ritual is interpreted as a form of contextual spirituality that bridges the community's cultural heritage with the internalisation of the Christian faith in daily life.
