Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis eksistensi ritual ma’lolokki sebagai sarana dalam membentuk solidaritas sosial masyarakat Baturondon berdasarkan perspektif Emile Durkheim. Ritual ma’lolokki yang merupakan bagian dari tradisi aluk Todolo tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penghormatan kepada leluhur, tetapi juga sebagai media untuk memperkuat hubungan antar anggota masyarakat melalui gotong royong, kerja sama, dan kebersamaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan tokoh adat, tokoh agama, serta masyarakat Baturondon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritual Ma’lolokki masih eksis dan mampu menjalankan fungsi sosialnya dalam menjaga dan memperkuat solidaritas sosial. Ritual ini membentuk solidaritas mekanik yang didasarkan pada kesamaan nilai budaya, moral, dan kepercayaan yang diwariskan turun temurun. Ritualitas ini memperkuat kesadaran kolektif melalui partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam setiap tahap pelaksanaan ritual sehingga menjaga keberlangsungan nilai budaya dan sosial masyarakat Baturondon. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa ritual ma’lolokki memiliki peranan penting sebagai sarana untuk mempertahankan kebersamaan dan integrasi sosial sesuai dengan teori Emile Durkheim. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the existence of the ma’lolokki ritual as a means of fostering social solidarity within the Baturondon Community, viewed through the perspective of Emile Durkheim. As part of the aluk todolo tradition, the Ma’lolokki ritual serves not only as an act of reverence for ancestors but also as a medium for strengthening bonds among community members through mutual assistance (gotong royong), cooperation, and togetherness. A qualitative research method with a descriptive approach was employed, utilizing observations and interviews with customary leaders, religious figures, and members of the Baturondon Community. The results indicate that the Ma’lolokki ritual persists and effectively fulfills its social function of maintaining and reinforcing social solidarity. The ritual fosters mechanical solidarity rooted in shared cultural values, morals, and beliefs passed down through generations. It strengthens collective consciousness through active community participation at every stage of the ritual, thereby preserving the cultural and social values of the Baturondon Community. These findings confirm that the ma’lolokki ritual plays a vital role in maintaining communal unity and social integration, consistent with Emile Durkheim’s theory.
