Abstract

Jein Retnawati, 2020228911” Analisis Pergeseran Makna Teologis Dalam Penggunaan Target Di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Bala”. Pembimbing adalah Dr. Semuel Tokam, M.Th. dan Ivan Sampe Buntu,M.Hum. Penulis mengangkat tulisan ini karena melihat penggunaan kata target dalam praktik persembahan di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Bala. Kata target yang awalnya merupakan istilah manajemen dan ekonomi kini telah menjadi menjadi bagian dari liturgi jemaat, sehingga menimbulkan pertanyaan teologis mengenai makna dan motivasi dalam memberikan persembahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis, dan data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap lima informan dari majelis gereja dan anggota jemaat. Analisis teologis dilakukan berdasarkan kerangka Teologi Martin Luther. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kata target dalam praktek persembahan cenderung menggeser motivasi memberi dari respon syukur atas anugerah Allah menuju pemenuhan kewajiban yang memaksa. Hal ini berpotensi mengaburkan pemahaman jemaat tentang persembahan sebagai ungkapan iman yang bebas dan penuh kasih. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlu pembaruan pemahaman teologis dalam parktek persembahan jemaat, sejalan dengan semangat yang menempatkan anugerah Allah sebagai dasar utaman kehiduan beriman. ABSTRACT Jein Retnawati, 2020228911 "Analysis of the Shifting Theological Meanings in the Use of Targets in the Bala Congregation of the Toraja Church." Supervisors: Dr. Semuel Tokam, M.Th. and Ivan Sampe Buntu, M.Hum. The author chose this paper because she observed the use of the word "target" in the practice of offerings in the Bala Congregation of the Toraja Church. Originally a management and economic term, the word "target" has now become part of the congregation's liturgy, raising theological questions about the meaning and motivations for giving offerings. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach, and data were collected through in-depth interviews with five informants from the church council and congregation members. The theological analysis was conducted based on Martin Luther's theological framework. The results show that the use of the word "target" in offering practices tends to shift the motivation for giving from a response of gratitude for God's grace to the fulfillment of a compelling obligation. This has the potential to obscure the congregation's understanding of offerings as a free and loving expression of faith. This research emphasizes the need for a renewed theological understanding in the congregation's offering practices, in line with the spirit that places God's grace as the primary foundation of a life of faith.
