Abstract
ABSTRACT The Kandean Dulang-shaped pulpit is an integral part of the liturgical space at the Lempo Poton Congregation, emphasizing the values of reverence, inculturation, and the revelation of the Word. In its practice, this symbol involves the adoption of a traditional food vessel as the center for biblical proclamation, which holds not only cultural significance but also profound theological values. This study employs a qualitative field research approach to explore the cultural meanings and liturgical theology embedded in the use of the pulpit. The findings indicate that this inculturative tradition remains highly relevant to the liturgical life of the faith community, particularly within the Gereja Toraja Lempo Poton Congregation. The analysis reveals that through a liturgical inculturation approach, the Kandean Dulang pulpit is understood as a space where the expression of Christian faith is influenced by the symbols, vessels, and traditions of a specific local community. The presence of this pulpit is viewed not merely as an aesthetic aspect of tradition, but as a feature carrying deep social and spiritual values, wherein the Kandean Dulang reflects the spirit of congregational equality, the highest offering, and the humility of the minister of the Word.
