Abstract

Skripsi yang disusun oleh Asriani Datu Karua (NIRM 2020229018) dengan judul “Analisis Kepemimpinan Majelis Gereja Toraja Jemaat Imanuel Buku Pongo’ Ditinjau dari Perspektif Kepemimpinan Hamba” mengkaji praktik kepemimpinan majelis gereja dalam perspektif kepemimpinan hamba (servant leadership). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kepemimpinan yang berorientasi pada pelayanan, kepedulian terhadap kebutuhan jemaat, serta pengembangan kehidupan bergereja yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai kasih Kristus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis praktik kepemimpinan Majelis Gereja Toraja Jemaat Imanuel Buku Pongo’ ditinjau dari perspektif kepemimpinan hamba. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kepemimpinan hamba yang dikembangkan oleh Larry C. Spears berdasarkan pemikiran Robert K. Greenleaf. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara mendalam untuk memahami praktik kepemimpinan yang berlangsung dalam kehidupan jemaat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Majelis Gereja Toraja Jemaat Imanuel Buku Pongo’ telah melaksanakan berbagai bentuk pelayanan, seperti perkunjungan, doa, musyawarah, kerja sama, dan keterlibatan dalam berbagai kegiatan gereja. Namun, praktik kepemimpinan tersebut belum sepenuhnya mencerminkan prinsip-prinsip kepemimpinan hamba. Hal ini terlihat dari masih adanya kebutuhan jemaat yang belum terlayani secara maksimal, terbatasnya pengembangan potensi jemaat, belum tampaknya upaya penyelesaian konflik secara nyata, serta belum adanya visi pelayanan yang dipahami dan dijalankan bersama oleh seluruh jemaat. Oleh karena itu, praktik kepemimpinan majelis dapat dipahami sebagai kepemimpinan yang mengarah pada kepemimpinan hamba, tetapi belum sepenuhnya mewujudkan prinsip-prinsip servant leadership dalam kehidupan dan pelayanan jemaat. ABSTRACT The thesis written by Asriani Datu Karua (NIRM 2020229018) entitled “Analysis of the Leadership of the Toraja Church Council at Imanuel Buku Pongo' Congregation: Viewed from the Perspective of Servand Leadership” examines the leadership practices of the church council from a servant leadership perspective. This research is motivated by the importance of service-oriented leadership, concern for the congregation's needs, and the development of church life that reflects the values of Christ's love. This study aims to describe and analyze the leadership practices of the Toraja Church Council of the Imanuel Book of Pongo' Congregation, viewed from a servant leadership perspective. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive-analytical approach. This study utilizes the servant leadership theory developed by Larry C. Spears based on the thinking of Robert K. Greenleaf. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed in depth to understand the leadership practices that occur in the congregation's life. The research results show that the Toraja Church Council of the Imanuel Buku Pongo' Congregation has implemented various forms of service, such as visits, prayer, deliberation, cooperation, and involvement in various church activities. However, these leadership practices do not fully reflect the principles of servant leadership. This is evident in the congregation's unmet needs, the limited development of its potential, the lack of concrete conflict resolution efforts, and the absence of a ministry vision that is understood and implemented by the entire congregation. Therefore, the council's leadership practices can be understood as leadership that aligns with servant leadership, but does not fully embody the principles of servant leadership in the congregation's life and ministry.
