Abstract

RAHELIA TIRANI BANTEN. 2020229335. Kajian Pelayanan Pastoral bagi Individu Penyandang Disabilitas Tunanetra di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Maranatha Buntu Sangalla. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kesenjangan teologis dan sosiologis yang dialami oleh penyandang disabilitas tunanetra di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Maranatha Buntu Sangalla. Secara teologis, mereka diakui setara sebagai Imago Dei (gambar dan rupa Allah). Namun secara sosiologis, mereka mengalami tembok pengucilan, keterasingan psikososial, serta minimnya aksesibilitas dalam aktivitas bergereja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengevaluasi peran pelayanan pastoral bagi individu penyandang disabilitas tunanetra di jemaat tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan naturalistik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) bersama pendeta jemaat, majelis gereja, jemaat terkait, serta keluarga penyandang disabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif untuk memahami fenomena pendampingan pastoral secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan pastoral yang berjalan selama ini masih bersifat umum dan kategoris, sehingga belum menyentuh kebutuhan spesifik psikososial dan fisik jemaat tunanetra secara inklusif. Mengacu pada paradigma Growth Counseling Howard Clinebell, pelayanan pastoral di gereja perlu diintegrasikan antara pendekatan spiritualitas dengan pemenuhan aspek psikososial Kata Kunci : Pelayanan Pastoral, Disabilitas Tunanetra, Inklusivitas, Imago Dei, Growth Counseling. This research is motivated by the theological and sociological gaps experienced by visually impaired individuals in the Toraja Church, Maranatha Buntu Sangalla Congregation. Theologically, they are recognized as equal Imago Dei (image and likeness of God). However, sociologically, they face barriers of exclusion, psychosocial isolation, and lack of accessibility in church life. This study aims to describe and evaluate the role of pastoral care for individuals with visual impairments within the congregation. The method employed in this research is descriptive qualitative with a naturalistic approach. Data were gathered through observation and in-depth interviews with the parish minister, church elders, congregation members involved, and families of the disabled individuals. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively to understand the pastoral accompaniment phenomenon thoroughly. The findings indicate that the existing pastoral care remains generalized and categorical, failing to inclusively address the specific psychosocial and physical needs of visually impaired members. Drawing on Howard Clinebell's Growth Counseling paradigm, pastoral care in the church must integrate a spiritual approach with psychosocial fulfillment.
