Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pelaksanaan pendampingan pastoral terhadap lansia di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Buntu Lepong, Klasis Makale Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan observasi terhadap 14 informan, yang terdiri atas pendeta, penatua, diaken, keluarga lansia, dan para lansia itu sendiri. Teori dasar yang digunakan meliputi lima fungsi pastoral Howard Clinebell, teori perkunjungan Bons-Strom, teori kesejahteraan Ryff, serta ketentuan Tata Gereja Toraja Pasal 31, 36, dan 37. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa majelis gereja memiliki pemahaman yang cukup baik tentang makna pendampingan pastoral, namun pemahaman tersebut belum diwujudkan dalam pelayanan yang terencana dan berkelanjutan bagi lansia. Perkunjungan hanya dilakukan dua kali dalam setahun secara situasional. Dari lima fungsi pastoral Clinebell, hanya fungsi penopangan dan pengasuhan yang sebagian terlaksana, sementara fungsi penyembuhan, pembimbingan, dan pendamaian belum berjalan. Oleh karena itu, gereja perlu membangun program pendampingan yang lebih terstruktur, rutin, dan menyeluruh demi menjawab kebutuhan rohani, fisik, psikologis, dan sosial para lansia. Kata kunci: pendampingan pastoral, lansia, majelis gereja, Gereja Toraja, perkunjungan ABSTRACT This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of pastoral accompaniment for elderly members at Gereja Toraja Jemaat Buntu Lepong, Klasis Makale Tengah. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews and observations involving 14 informants consisting of a pastor, elders, deacons, elderly members, and their families. The theoretical framework is grounded in Howard Clinebell's five pastoral functions, Bons-Strom's visitation theory, Ryff hierarchy of needs, and the provisions of the Gereja Toraja Constitution Articles 31, 36, and 37. The findings reveal that the church council has a sufficient understanding of pastoral accompaniment; however, this understanding has not been translated into planned and sustainable pastoral programs for the elderly. Home visits were only conducted twice a year on a situational basis. Of the five pastoral functions proposed by Clinebell, only partial aspects of the supporting and nurturing functions were implemented, while the healing, guiding, and reconciling functions remained absent. Therefore, the church needs to develop a more structured, regular, and holistic pastoral program to address the spiritual, physical, psychological, and social needs of the elderly Keywords: pastoral accompaniment, elderly, church council, Gereja Toraja, pastoral visitation.
