Abstract
Meskipun demikian, kemampuan regulasi emosi setiap subjek berbeda sehingga pengelolaan emosi belum sepenuhnya optimal. Kata Kunci: Regulasi Emosi, Mobile Legends, Mahasiswa, James J. Gross. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the emergence of negative emotions such as anger, frustration, and the use of profanity among university students while playing Mobile Legends. The study aims to analyze the emotion regulation mechanisms of Mobile Legends players among Chirstian Psychology students off 2022 at IAKN Toraja. It utilizes James J. Gross’s theory of emotion regulation. A qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving four informants selected via purposive sampling. The results indicate that the students employ emotion regulation mechanisms including situation selection, situation modification, attentional deployment, cognitive change, and response modulation. However, as emotion regulation capabilities vary among the subjects, their management of emotions is not yet fully optimal. Keywords: Emotion Regulation, Mobile Legends, University Students, James J. Gross.
