Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu berawal dari temuan mengenai rendahnya ketekunan anak dalam mengikuti ibadah sekolah minggu di Jemaat Hermon Maroson. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter spiritual anak usia 8-11 tahun di Jemaat Hermon Maroson. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research). Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua memegang empat peran utama dalam pembentukan karakter spiritual anak, yaitu sebagai teladan atau role model, pendidik, pembimbing, dan motivator. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa keberhasilan pembentukan karakter spiritual anak sangat bergantung pada sinergi antara orang tua dan gereja melalui sekolah minggu. Kata Kunci : Karakter Spiritual, Peran Orang Tua, Sekolah Minggu ABSTRACT The main problem in this study stems from the finding of low persistence in children attending Sunday school services at the Hermon Maroson Congregation. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in the formation of the spiritual character of children aged 8-11 at the Hermon Maroson Congregation. This study used a qualitative approach with field research. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that parents play four primary roles in the formation of children's spiritual character: as role models, educators, mentors, and motivators. This study also found that the success of children's spiritual character formation is highly dependent on the synergy between parents and the church through Sunday school.
