Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemerosotan karakter generasi muda di Desa Buntubuda, khususnya menurunnya kejujuran dan solidaritas. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis nilai pendidikan karakter menurut Thomas Lickona dalam filosofi Banua Bolong. Studi ini menggunakan teori Thomas Lickona yang mencakup moral knowing, moral feeling, dan moral action. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif field research dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Banua Bolong mengandung nilai karakter yaitu rasa hormat dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai tersebut terbentuk melalui pemahaman sejarah dan simbol arsitektur, menumbuhkan rasa bangga serta empati melalui interaksi sosial, serta membiasakan tindakan nyata seperti gotong royong dan tata krama sopan santun. Dengan demikian, filosofi Banua Bolong berpotensi menjadi media efektif untuk pendidikan karakter berbasis kearifan lokal bagi generasi muda. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the decline in the character of young people in Buntubuda Village, especially the decrease in honesty and solidarity. The purpose of the study is to analyze character education values according to Thomas Lickona within the philosophy of Banua Bolong. This study uses Thomas Lickona's theory, which includes moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The research employs a qualitative field research method with data collection techniques through interviews and observation. The results show that Banua Bolong contains character values like respect and responsibility. These values are shaped through understanding history and architectural symbols, fostering pride and empathy through social interactions, and encouraging real actions like working together and practicing polite manners. Therefore, the Banua Bolong philosophy has the potential to be an effective medium for character education based on local wisdom for the younger generation.
