Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Psikologi Umum di Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Kristen Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Toraja. Kondisi tersebut terlihat dari kurangnya keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran, seperti rendahnya partisipasi dalam diskusi, kurangnya perhatian saat perkuliahan berlangsung, serta hasil belajar yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan minat belajar mahasiswa dan hasil belajar pada mata kuliah Psikologi Umum serta menganalisis hubungan antara keduanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dosen pengampu dan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang mengikuti mata kuliah Psikologi Umum. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar mahasiswa masih tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut tampak pada indikator perasaan senang, perhatian, ketertarikan, dan keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran yang belum berkembang secara optimal. Sebagian mahasiswa masih sering merasa bosan, kurang fokus saat perkuliahan berlangsung, pasif dalam diskusi, serta kurang antusias dalam menyelesaikan tugas. Rendahnya minat belajar tersebut berdampak pada hasil belajar mahasiswa yang terlihat dari rendahnya pencapaian akademik sebagian mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Psikologi Umum. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya dari dosen dan mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan minat belajar guna mendukung pencapaian hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci: minat belajar, hasil belajar, mahasiswa, Psikologi Umum, Pendidikan Agama Kristen ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the low level of students’ learning interest in the General Psychology course at the Christian Religious Education Study Program of the Toraja State Christian Institute (IAKN Toraja). This condition was reflected in students’ limited participation during the learning process, including low involvement in classroom discussions, lack of attention during lectures, and learning outcomes that had not yet reached the expected level. The purpose of this study was to describe students’ learning interest and learning outcomes in the General Psychology course and to examine the relationship between these two aspects. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of the course lecturer and students enrolled in the General Psychology course in the Christian Religious Education Study Program. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through the processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that students’ learning interest was relatively low. This was evident in several indicators, including enjoyment, attention, interest, and active participation in the learning process, which had not developed optimally. Some students frequently experienced boredom, had difficulty maintaining focus during lectures, participated passively in discussions, and showed limited enthusiasm in completing assignments. This low level of learning interest contributed to unsatisfactory learning outcomes, as reflected in the academic performance of several students in the General Psychology course. Therefore, collaborative efforts from both lecturers and students are needed to enhance learning interest in order to achieve better learning outcomes.
