Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to explore and analyze the relationship between the Pentaunan Rite and the formation of the agrarian ivork ethic in the Seko Lemo community. The Pentaunan rite is a series of orders and worship Services that regulate the entire rice farming cyclefor a year. The research method used is qualitative, where data were collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, and local farmers. The results show that the Pentaunan Rite is not rnerely a cultural cereniony but a profound expression of faith where the community views work as a spiritual calling and a responsibility of stewardship to God. This theological meaning forms a work ethic characterized by discipline, order, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and gratitude. Despite facing the challenges of modernization and mechanized agricultural technology, this rite remains relevant as an identity anchor and an instrument for ecological preservation. The study concludes that the integration offaith values and cultural practices creates social and spiritual resilience for the community in maintaining their agrarian living space.
