Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi guru Sekolah Minggu dalam meningkatkan disiplin ibadah anak di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Kapernaum Tonglo, yang dilatarbelakangi masalah ketepatan waktu, kurang fokus, dan rendahnya konsistensi anak dalam ibadah. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan strategi guru dalam upaya peningkatan kedisiplinan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan field research, meliputi observasi, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi di lokasi penelitian. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru sekolah minggu, majelis gereja dan anak sekolah minggu. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keteladanan guru, pembelajaran kreatif-interaktif, pembiasaan rutinitas ibadah, serta penghargaan positif secara bersama-sama berkontribusi memperbaiki disiplin anak, terutama pada kehadiran tepat waktu, kesiapan membawa perlengkapan ibadah, fokus selama kegiatan, dan aspek pengarahan serta pengendalian diri. Temuan ini menjadi dasar rekomendasi praktis bagi guru dan majelis gereja. Kata kunci: Disiplin Ibadah, Guru Sekolah Minggu. ABSTRACT This study examines the strategies employed by Sunday School teachers to improve children’s worship discipline at Gereja Toraja Jemaat Kapernaum Tonglo, motivated by issues of punctuality, lack of focus, and low consistency in children’s participation in worship. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the strategies used by teachers to enhance discipline. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a field research approach, involving observation, structured interviews, and documentation at the research site. The informants in this study consisted of Sunday School teachers, church elders, and Sunday School children. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teacher role modeling, creative–interactive learning, the establishment of routine worship practices, and positive reinforcement collectively contribute to improving children’s discipline, particularly in punctual attendance, readiness to bring worship materials, focus during activities, and aspects of guidance and self-control. These findings serve as a basis for practical recommendations for teachers and church elders. Keywords: Worship Discipline, Sunday School Teacher.
