Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji Konsep Pengosongan diri (kenosis) berdasarkan Filipi 2:5-8 dengan menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutik serta Implikasinya bagi identitas diri orang percaya. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya pemahaman yang kurang utuh mengenai pengosongan Diri Yesus, yang sering dipersempit hanya pada aspek etis, tanpa memperhatikan makna teologis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menafsirkan Filipi 2:5-8 secara mendalam serta menjelaskan relevansinya bagi pembentukan identitas diri orang percaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutik yakni dengan metode gramatikal historis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengosongan diri Yesus merupakan tindakan sukarela dalam ketaatan penuh kepada Allah, yang menegaskan identitas-Nya sebagai Hamba yang taat sampai mati di kayu salib. Implikasi bagi orang percaya adalah pembentukan identitas diri yang berakar pada kerendahan hati, ketaatan, dan kehidupan yang melayani. ABSTRACT This study examines the concept of self-emptying (kenosis) based on Philippians 2:5-8 using a hermeneutic approach and its implications for the self-identity of believers. This study is motivated by the incomplete understanding of Jesus' self-emptying, which is often narrowed down to the ethical aspect, without considering the theological meaning. The purpose of this study is to interpret Philippians 2:5-8 in depth and explain its relevance for the formation of the self-identity of believers. The type of research used is qualitative research with a hermeneutic approach, namely the historical grammatical method. The results show that Jesus' self-emptying was a voluntary act in full obedience to God, which confirms His identity as an obedient Servant to the point of death on the cross. The implication for believers is the formation of a self-identity rooted in humility, obedience, and a life of service.
