Abstract

Jens Yudiman 2026. This study examines the role of the church in assisting patchouli farmers, focusing on spiritual, socio-economic, and ecological dimensions, as well as the theological implications of holistic ministry on the welfare of the congregation. The method used was descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and documentation studies in the patchouli farmer community. The results showed that church assistance can improve the economic welfare of the congregation, strengthen agricultural knowledge capacity, instill ethical and moral values, and encourage environmentally friendly agricultural practices. However, the limitations of formal training and government support are major challenges to the sustainability of the program. A holistic approach that integrates spiritual guidance, agricultural education, economic ethics, and environmental conservation is seen as a concrete implementation of faith that is responsible for creation. Thus, the role of the church is not only to guide the spiritual life of the congregation, but also to promote socio-economic welfare and environmental sustainability as a form of comprehensive Christian ministry.
