Abstract

Tradisi mengkotuhu merupakan warisan adat masyarakat Rampi yang bersumber dari ajaran dan cerita leluhur. Tradisi ini berfungsi menegaskan aturan adat dalam proses perkawinan, khususnya untuk menjaga martabat dan kehormatan perempuan. Mengkotuhu dipahami sebagai simbol wibawa perempuan serta sarana pendidikan moral yang menanamkan nilai keseriusan, tanggung jawab, dan penghormatan dalam relasi menuju perkawinan. Dalam terang iman Kristen, tradisi ini dapat dimaknai sebagai ruang dialog antara Injil dan budaya yang meneguhkan nilai martabat manusia dan kesucian perjanjian perkawinan. Proses mengkotuhu dilakukan setelah pasangan menerima pemberkatan nikah di gereja. Dalam tradisi ini, mempelai pria diantar oleh tokoh adat dan keluarga menuju rumah mempelai perempuan. Pengantaran tersebut bermakna simbolis sebagai penyerahan tanggung jawab orang tua perempuan kepada mempelai pria. Kehadiran tokoh adat berfungsi sebagai saksi sekaligus penjamin bahwa seluruh rangkaian adat dilaksanakan sesuai ketentuan yang berlaku. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini yakni menemukan nilai-nilai dari tradisi mengkotuhu, dan mendialogkan tradisi mengkotuhu dengan perkawinan Kristen menggunakan model sintesis dari Stephen B. Bevans. Metode yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif untuk menemukan nilai-nilai dari tardisi mengkotuhu. Hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan penulis menunjukan bahwa Tradisi mengkotuhu mengandung nilai-nilai luhur seperti penghormatan terhadap martabat perempuan, tanggung jawab laki-laki sebagai suami, kesetiaan, kesopanan dalam relasi sosial, kesungguhan niat membangun rumah tangga, serta pengendalian diri melalui norma dan sanksi adat. Ketika nilai-nilai adat ini disintesiskan dengan ajaran injil, maka lahirlah pemahaman perkawinan yang kontekstual, yakni iman yang tetap setia pada injil, tetapi dihayati melalui simbol, struktur, dan bahasa budaya Rampi. Kata Kunci: Mengkotuhu, Perkawinan Kristen. ABSTRACT The tradition of Mengtuhu is the traditional heritage of the Rampi people which is sourced from ancestral teachings and stories. This tradition serves to affirm customary rules in the marriage process, especially to maintain the dignity and honor of women. Mengtuhu is understood as a symbol of women's authority and a means of moral education that instills the values of seriousness, responsibility, and respect in the relationship towards marriage. In the light of the Christian faith, this tradition can be interpreted as a space for dialogue between the gospel and culture that affirms the value of human dignity and the sanctity of the marriage covenant. The process of obeying is carried out after the couple receives the marriage blessing at the church. In this tradition, the groom is escorted by traditional leaders and family to the bride's house. The delivery has a symbolic meaning as the handover of the responsibility of the bride's parents to the groom. The presence of traditional leaders serves as a witness as well as a guarantor that the entire series of customs is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The goal to be achieved in this study is to find the values of the tradition of following and dialogue the tradition of following with Christian marriage using the synthesis model of Stephen B. Bevans. The method used by the author in this study is qualitative research to find the values of the following tardisi . The results of the research carried out by the author show that the Tradition of Obeying contains noble values such as respect for women's dignity, men's responsibilities as husbands, loyalty, politeness in social relations, sincerity of intention to build a household, and self-control through customary norms and sanctions. When these traditional values are synthesized with the teachings of the gospel, a contextual understanding of marriage is born, namely a faith that remains faithful to the gospel, but is lived through symbols, structures, and language of Rampi culture.
