Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran guru sekolah minggu dalam membina karakter anak di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Rantepaku. Metode penelitiannya adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru membina karakter anak terutama melalui pengajaran dan teladan berdasarkan cerita tokoh-tokoh Alkitab. Cara ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan perilaku anak di lingkungan gereja. Selain itu, anak-anak juga diajarkan untuk lebih sabar, fokus mempelajari Firman Tuhan, dan mengasah kreativitas melalui kegiatan seperti drama dan kuis Alkitab. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan untuk pengembangan metode pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen, khususnya dalam membina karakter anak sekolah minggu dalam beribadah. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the role of Sunday school teachers in developing children's character at the Rantepaku Congregation of the Toraja Church. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results indicate that teachers develop children's character primarily through teaching and role models based on stories of biblical characters. This approach has been proven to improve children's behavior in the church environment. Furthermore, children are taught to be more patient, focus on studying God's Word, and hone their creativity through activities such as drama and Bible quizzes. This research can provide input for the development of Christian Religious Education learning methods, particularly in developing the character of Sunday school children in worship.
