Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran gereja dalam meningkatkan solidaritas sosial generasi muda di Lembang Batu Busa. Solidaritas sosial merupakan unsur penting dalam menjaga keharmonisan dan kebersamaan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori solidaritas sosial Emile Durkheim yang membedahkan antara solidaritas mekanik dan organik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dengan menunjukkan bahwa gereja berperan aktif melalui berbagai kegiatan atau program seperti ibadah kaum muda, pelayanan sosial, ret-ret rohani, serta pelibatan generasi muda dalam upacara adat. Meskipun masih terdapat tantangan seperti kurangnya partisipasi dari sebagaian generasi muda yang merantau, namun gereja mampu menjadi wadah yang efektif dalam menumbuhkan semangat solidaritas sosial di kalangan generasi muda. Kata Kunci: Gereja, Solidaritas Sosial, Generasi Muda, Kegiatan Masyarakat, Lembang Batu Busa ABSTRACT This study aims to understand the role of the church in increasing social solidarity of the younger generation in Lembang Batu Busa, Buntu Pepasan District. Social solidarity is an important element in maintaining social harmony, especially amidst the declining participation of the younger generation in social and traditional activities. This study uses Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity, which distinguishes between mechanical and organic solidarity, to analyze how the church forms a sense of togetherness through differentiation of roles and social responsibilities. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. By showing that the church plays an active role through various programs or activities such as youth worship, social services, spiritual retreats, and involvement in traditional ceremonies. Although there are still challenges such as the lack of participation from some of the younger generation who have migrated, in general the church is able to be an effective forum in fostering a spirit of social solidarity among the younger generation.
