Abstract
Krislew Ivan Marsem. 2320218897. Judul: Misi Kontekstual Gereja dalam Merespon Anak Putus Sekolah di Gereja Toraja Mamasa Jemaat Betezda Salubatu. Dibimbing oleh Bapak Rinaldus Tandulangi’, M.Pd sebagai pembimbing I, dan Bapak Dr. Yohanis Luni Tumanan, M.Th sebagai pembimbing II. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pendidikan di Jemaat Betezda Salubatu yang disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, seperti kondisi ekonomi keluarga, rendahnya motivasi belajar anak, serta kurangnya keterlibatan aktif gereja dalam mendampingi generasi muda. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menggali pandangan dari orang tua, tokoh gereja, serta anak-anak yang mengalami putus sekolah.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gereja belum memiliki strategi yang spesifik dalam menangani persoalan anak putus sekolah, meskipun memiliki potensi besar sebagai agen perubahan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peran gereja dalam mengembangkan program misi yang kontekstual, yang terintegrasi dengan kebutuhan sosial masyarakat, khususnya di bidang pendidikan. Gereja diharapkan hadir sebagai pendamping, motivator, dan fasilitator dalam pendidikan informal dan pembinaan karakter, guna menjawab tantangan generasi muda di tengah perkembangan zaman. Title: Contextual Mission of the Church in Responding to School Dropouts at the Toraja Mamasa Church, Betezda Salubatu Congregation. Supervised by Mr. Rinaldus Tandulangi’, M.Pd as Supervisor I, and Mr. Dr. Yohanis Luni Tumanan, M.Th as Supervisor II. This research is motivated by the educational problems at the Betezda Salubatu Congregation caused by various factors, such as family economic conditions, low motivation for children to learn, and the lack of active involvement of the church in assisting the younger generation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the views of parents, church leaders, and children who have dropped out of school. The results of the study indicate that the church does not yet have a specific strategy in dealing with the problem of school dropouts, even though it has great potential as an agent of social change. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of the role of the church in developing contextual mission programs that are integrated with the social needs of the community, especially in the field of education. The church is expected to be present as a companion, motivator, and facilitator in informal education and character building, in order to answer the challenges of the younger generation amidst the development of the times.
