Abstract
Lansia di Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa menghadapi berbagai tekanan psikologis yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan mental mereka. Namun, pendampingan konseling pastoral yang dapat membantu penguatan kesehatan mental lansia ini belum berjalan secara optimal dan merata. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran konseling pastoral dalam penguatan kesehatan mental lansia di lapas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan landasan teori pendampingan menurut Jumali yang menekankan fasilitasi dalam membantu menyelesaikan masalah, serta pendekatan Gestalt yang mengutamakan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab atas pengalaman hidup saat ini. Konseling pastoral diharapkan menjadi layanan spiritual yang menyeluruh dan transformatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif fenomenologi dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan studi literatur. Penelitian dilakukan di Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa pada Juni 2025, dengan lansia sebagai informan utama. Data dianalisis melalui proses pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta diuji keabsahannya dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konseling pastoral memberikan efek positif seperti ketenangan batin, penguatan spiritual, dan ruang untuk curahan hati bagi lansia. Pendekatan rohani, personal, dan empati yang digunakan sesuai dengan teori konseling pastoral dan Gestalt. Namun, frekuensi layanan yang kurang rutin dan keterbatasan tenaga konselor menjadi kendala utama sehingga dampak konseling belum dapat dirasakan secara menyeluruh. Selain itu, kondisi fisik lansia menuntut pendekatan yang sabar dan adaptif dari konselor. Kesimpulannya, konseling pastoral berperan penting dalam penguatan kesehatan mental lansia di lapas, namun perlu peningkatan kontinuitas dan intensitas layanan agar manfaatnya dapat dirasakan secara optimal oleh seluruh warga binaan lansia. Kata Kunci: Konseling pastoral, Kesehatan mental, Lansia di lembaga pemasyarakatan ABSTRACK Elderly inmates at the Class IIA Narcotics Prison in Sungguminasa face various psychological pressures that may disrupt their mental health. However, pastoral counseling assistance, which can help strengthen the mental health of the elderly, has not been carried out optimally and evenly. Based on this issue, this study aims to analyze the role of pastoral counseling in strengthening the mental health of elderly inmates in the prison. This research uses the theoretical foundation of accompaniment according to Jumali, which emphasizes facilitation in helping to resolve problems, as well as the Gestalt approach that prioritizes awareness and responsibility for present life experiences. Pastoral counseling is expected to be a comprehensive and transformative spiritual service. The method used is qualitative phenomenology with data collection through observation, unstructured interviews, and literature studies. The research was conducted at the Class IIA Narcotics Prison in Sungguminasa in June 2025, with elderly inmates as the main informants. Data were analyzed through the processes of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, and their validity was tested using triangulation techniques. The results show that pastoral counseling provides positive effects such as inner peace, spiritual strengthening, and a space for elderly inmates to pour out their feelings. The spiritual, personal, and empathetic approaches used align with pastoral counseling and Gestalt theories. However, the infrequent frequency of services and limited number of counselors are the main obstacles, so the impact of counseling has not been felt comprehensively. In addition, the physical conditions of the elderly require counselors to adopt patient and adaptive approaches. In conclusion, pastoral counseling plays an important role in strengthening the mental health of elderly inmates in prison, but there is a need to improve the continuity and intensity of services so that the benefits can be optimally felt by all elderly inmates.
