Abstract

Penelitian ini Menganalisis pengaruh ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK) terhadap sikap individualistik di kalangan kaula muda Dusun Ratteayun, Lembang Limbong. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Teori utama yang digunakan adalah teori Perubahan sosial William F. Ogburn, yang menyatakan bahwa budaya material seperti teknologi berkembang lebih cepat daripada budaya non-material seperti nilai sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Iptek telah mengubah gaya hidup, mengurangi interaksi sosial langsung, dan menimbulkan kesenjangan budaya. Kaula muda lebih memilih dunia digital dari pada keterlibatan sosial, yang berdampak pada menurunnya solidaritas dan tanggung jawab sosial. Fenomena ini menunjukkan adanya culture lag yang signifikan di masyarakat Ratteayun akibat perkembangan teknologi yang pesat. Kata Kunci: Iptek, Individualistik, Kaula muda, William F. Ogburn ABSTRACT This study discusses the influence of science and technology on individualistic attitudes among young people in Ratteayun Hamlet, Lembang Limbong. The purpose of this study is to analyze how technological advances, especially the use of gadgets, shape individualistic mindsets and behaviors. The method used is descriptive qualitative with interview and observation techniques. The main theory used is William F. Ogburn's theory of social change, which states that material culture such as technology develops faster than non-material culture such as social values. The results of the study indicate that the use of science and technology has changed lifestyles, reduced direct social interaction, and created a cultural gap. Young people prefer the digital world to social involvement, which has an impact on decreasing solidarity and social responsibility. This phenomenon shows a significant culture lag in the Ratteayun community due to rapid technological developments. Keywords: Science and technology, individualistic, young people, William F. Ogburn
