Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana makna tradisi Padungku membentuk identitas sosial masyarakat Pamona di Desa Barati, Kecamatan Pamona Tenggara. Tradisi Padungku dimaknai oleh masyarakat sebagai bentuk ucapan syukur kepada Tuhan atas hasil panen padi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara kepada beberapa narasumber dari masyarakat Pamona. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori identitas sosial Henry Tajfel yang mencakup kategorisasi sosial, identifikasi sosial, dan perbandingan sosial, serta konsep identifikasi kolektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Padungku berfungsi sebagai penanda identitas sosial masyarakat Pamona yang membedakan mereka dari suku lain (kategori sosial). Tradisi ini juga menumbuhkan rasa bangga, memiliki, dan kedekatan emosional terhadap kelompok (identifikasi sosial). Selain itu, masyarakat Pamona membandingkan tradisi mereka dengan tradisi suku lain untuk memperkuat nilai positif dari identitas kelompok mereka (perbandingan sosial). Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa Padungku memperkuat kebersamaan, gotong royong, dan solidaritas, serta menjadi sarana mempererat hubungan antar suku. Walaupun cara pelaksanaan Padungku berubah, makna dan nilai utamanya tetap dipertahankan. Tradisi ini menjadi simbol fleksibilitas identitas sosial yang mampu beradaptasi dengan zaman tanpa kehilangan jati diri kelompok. Kata Kunci: Padungku, identitas sosial, masyarakat Pamona. ABSTRACT This study aims to understand how the meaning of the Padungku tradition shapes the social identity of the Pamona community in Barati Village, Southeast Pamona District. The Padungku tradition is interpreted by the community as a form of gratitude to God for the rice harvest. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with interview techniques with several informants from the Pamona community. The theory used is Henry Tajfel's social identity theory which includes social categorization, social identification, and social comparison, as well as the concept of collective identification. The results of the study show that the Padungku tradition functions as a marker of the social identity of the Pamona community that distinguishes them from other tribes (social category). This tradition also fosters a sense of pride, belonging, and emotional closeness to the group (social identification). In addition, the Pamona community compares their traditions with the trade tions of other tribes to strengthen the positive values of their group identity (social comparison). The findings also show that Padungku strengthens togetherness, mutual cooperation, and solidarity, and is a means of strengthening relations between tribes. Although the method of implementing Padungku has changed, its main meaning and values are maintained. This tradition is a symbol of the flexibility of social identity that is able to adapt to the times without losing the group's identity. Keywords: Padungku, social identity, Pamona society,
