Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh refleksi teologis terhadap keterlibatan jemaat sebagai pelayan sekaligus korban dalam penanganan pascabencana alam, khususnya dalam konteks gereja lokal. Dalam situasi bencana, perhatian sering kali terfokus pada aspek bantuan fisik semata, sementara dimensi teologis dan spiritual dari keterlibatan gereja acapkali terabaikan. Hal ini memunculkan kebutuhan untuk menelaah secara lebih mendalam dasar teologis keterlibatan gereja dalam pelayanan yang bersifat menyeluruh dan kontekstual. Pokok masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pemahaman misi holistik yang terkandung dalam Lukas 10:25–37, melalui perumpamaan Orang Samaria yang baik hati, dapat menjadi dasar kasih yang memotivasi dan menjiwai pelayanan Jemaat Sion Kassa pasca gempa bumi di Kota Mamuju. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali makna teologis dari teks tersebut melalui pendekatan hermeneutik dan menjembatani makna tersebut dengan realitas keterlibatan jemaat secara nyata di tengah penderitaan bersama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode hermeneutik sebagai alat tafsir teks, disertai dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap pelayan dan jemaat yang terlibat langsung dalam pelayanan pascabencana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perumpamaan Orang Samaria yang baik bukan hanya menekankan tindakan kasih, tetapi juga menggambarkan keberanian untuk melampaui batas-batas sosial, agama, dan kepentingan diri demi merespons kebutuhan sesama manusia. Dalam konteks ini, Jemaat Sion Kassa menunjukkan bentuk kasih yang serupa, yakni kasih yang tidak dibatasi oleh status mereka sebagai korban, tetapi justru melahirkan empati yang lebih dalam terhadap penderitaan orang lain. Keterlibatan mereka dalam pelayanan, mulai dari bantuan logistik hingga penguatan rohani yang merupakan cerminan nyata dari misi holistik yang mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual dan sosial secara utuh. Tindakan kasih yang diwujudkan oleh jemaat menjadi kesaksian hidup akan relevansi pesan Injil dalam menghadapi krisis kemanusiaan masa kini. Kata Kunci : Fusion of Horizons, Jemaat Sion Kassa, Korban Gempa Bumi, Lukas 10:25-37, Misi Holistik ABSTRACT This research is motivated by a theological reflection on the involvement of the congregation as both servant and victim in post-disaster recovery efforts, particularly in the context of the local church. In disaster situations, attention is often focused solely on physical aid, while the theological and spiritual dimensions of the church’s involvement are frequently overlooked. This raises the need to examine more deeply the theological foundation of the church's engagement in holistic and contextual ministry. The main issue explored in this study is how the understanding of holistic mission found in Luke 10:25–37, through the parable of the Good Samaritan, can serve as a foundation of love that motivates and animates the ministry of the Sion Kassa congregation following the earthquake in the city of Mamuju. The aim of this research is to explore the theological meaning of the text through a hermeneutic approach and to bridge that meaning with the reality of the congregation’s tangible involvement in the midst of shared suffering. This research employs a qualitative approach using hermeneutics as a tool for interpreting the text, supported by in-depth interviews with church leaders and members directly involved in post-disaster ministry. The findings show that the parable of the Good Samaritan not only emphasizes acts of compassion but also illustrates the courage to cross social, religious, and personal boundaries in order to respond to the needs of others. In this context, the Sion Kassa congregation demonstrates a similar form of love one that is not limited by their status as victims, but instead gives rise to a deeper empathy toward the suffering of others. Their involvement in ministry, from logistical support to spiritual strengthening, reflects a concrete expression of holistic mission that fully integrates both spiritual and social dimensions. The acts of compassion carried out by the congregation serve as a living testimony to the relevance of the Gospel message in addressing today’s humanitarian crises.
