Abstract

Skripsi ini diangkat dari latar belakang masalah mengenai bagaimana peran majelis gereja untuk meningkatkakan partisipasi anggota Persekutuan pemuda gereja toraja di gereja toraja jemaat se’seng. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peran pastoral majelis gereja dalam mendorong peningkatan partisipasi Persekutuan Pemuda Gereja Toraja (PPGT) pada berbagai kegiatan Organisasi Intra Gereja (OIG) di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Se’seng. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilandasi oleh fenomena rendahnya keterlibatan pemuda dalam aktivitas gerejawi, meskipun mereka merupakan generasi penerus dan bagian esensial dalam pertumbuhan gereja. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui rancangan studi kasus, serta Menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, serta studi pustaka sebagai teknik pengumpulan data dalam proses penghimpunan data. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan menunjukkan bahwa peran pastoral majelis gereja belum optimal, terutama dalam hal komunikasi, pendampingan, dan pemberdayaan pemuda. Banyak anggota PPGT merasa kurang diperhatikan dan tidak dilibatkan dalam perencanaan kegiatan gereja. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pendekatan pastoral yang lebih kontekstual, komunikatif, dan transformasional untuk membangun partisipasi aktif pemuda dan memperkuat relasi antara majelis dan PPGT. Kata Kunci: Gereja Toraja, Majelis Gereja, Organisasi Intra Gereja, Partisipasi Pemuda, Pastoral Konseling ABSTRACT This thesis originates from the problem background concerning the role of the church council in enhancing the participation of members of the Toraja Church Youth Fellowship within the Se’seng Congregation of the Toraja Church. This study aims to explore the pastoral role of the church council in fostering greater participation within the Toraja Church Youth Fellowship (PPGT) in various Intra-Church Organization (OIG) activities at the Toraja Church of Se'seng Congregation. The background of this study is grounded in the phenomenon of low youth involvement in church activities, even though they are the next generation and an essential part of church growth. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, utilizing interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review as techniques for data collection. The results of the study indicate that the pastoral role of the church council is essential in motivating, guiding, and facilitating active participation among members of the Toraja Church Youth Fellowship. not optimal, especially in terms of communication, mentoring, and youth empowerment. Many PPGT members feel less cared for and not involved in planning church activities. This study recommends the need for a more contextual, communicative, and transformational pastoral approach to build active youth participation and strengthen the relationship between the assembly and PPGT.
