Abstract

Kata kunci: Misi, Pengadopsian Suku, Teologi Inklusif, Paul F. Knitter, Gepsultra ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the mission program of adopting unreached people groups implimented by the Protestant Church in Southeast Sulwesi (Gepsultra) traugh the lens of Paul F. Knitter’s inclusive theology. The research focuses on the lack of synchronized understanding between the Synod, the Church Mission Board (BPIG), and the congregations regarding the purpose and implementation of the mission program. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected thraugh interviews, observation, and document analysis at Gepsultra Synod and Siloam Punggaluku Congregation. The findings reveal that adoption program is not fully understood by the congregations, and even some church leaders. The lack of clear communication and dialogical approach causes confusion and passivity among church members. From Knitter’s persepective, mission should be inclusive and contextual, where local tribes are not treated as more objects of conversion but as patners in God’s work of salvation. Therefore, a unified understanding of mission, contextual mission training, and the use of empowering lnguage and approaches are needed to make the program effective and respectful. Keywords: Mission, People Group Adoption, Inclusive Theology, Paul F.Knitter, Gepsultra.
