Abstract

Pemuda adalah generasi masa kini sekaligus generasi masa depan bangsa dan Gereja. Idealnya, pemuda memiliki semangat progresif, integritas yang tinggi, kepedulian sosial, serta kemampuan menganalisis dinamika zaman. Namun, dalam realitas politik uang, idealisme pemuda melemah akibat tekanan ekonomi, budaya pragmatis, serta minimnya teladan pemimpin yang berintegritas. Penelitian ini berfokus pada isu politik uang dan kesadaran etis pemuda Gereja Toraja Jemaat Buntu Pasele Rantepao pada tahun 2024. Tujuannya adalah untuk menguraikan sejauh mana keterlibatan pemuda dalam aktivitas politik, khususnya dalam konteks pemilu dan pilkada, serta memberikan kontribusi pemikiran bagi pemuda di Toraja, khususnya di Jemaat Buntu Pasele, mengenai pentingnya peran serta dalam politik yang etis dan bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etis-teologis. Etika politik, sebagai cabang etika yang membahas dimensi moral kekuasaan, pemerintahan, kebijakan publik, dan perilaku politik warga negara, menjadi landasan refleksi utama. Politik uang dipahami bukan hanya sebagai pelanggaran hukum atau moral individu, tetapi sebagai bentuk pelanggaran terhadap tanggung jawab etis dalam ruang publik. Diharapkan, hasil penelitian ini dapat mendorong terbentuknya ruang dialog etis-politik antara pemuda gereja, majelis jemaat, dan pelayan firman, guna menumbuhkan kesadaran kolektif akan pentingnya menjaga integritas iman dalam kehidupan publik. Kata kunci: Pemuda, Politik Uang, Etika, ABSTRACT Youth are the current generation as well as the future generation of the nation and the Church. Ideally, youth have a progressive spirit, high integrity, social concern, and the ability to analyze the dynamics of the times. However, in the reality of money politics, youth idealism is weakened by economic pressures, pragmatic culture, and the lack of role models of leaders with integrity. This study focuses on the issue of money politics and the ethical awareness of youth in the Toraja Church, Buntu Pasele Rantepao Congregation in 2024. The aim is to describe the extent of youth involvement in political activities, especially in the context of elections and regional elections, and to contribute ideas for youth in Toraja, especially in the Buntu Pasele Congregation, regarding the importance of participating in ethical and responsible politics. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethical-theological approach. Political ethics, as a branch of ethics that discusses the moral dimensions of power, government, public policy, and the political behavior of citizens, is the main basis for reflection. Money politics is understood not only as a violation of the law or individual morals, but as a form of violation of ethical responsibility in the public sphere. It is hoped that the results of this study can encourage the formation of an ethical-political dialogue space between church youth, congregational councils, and ministers of the word, in order to foster collective awareness of the importance of maintaining the integrity of faith in public life.
