Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran Gereja Toraja Jemaat Padang Katapi dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi jemaat berdasarkan teori Paul Stevens. Teori ini menekankan bahwa misi Kerajaan Allah mencakup penatalayanan kreasional, keadilan, ekonomi, pengembangan masyarakat, pemulihan hubungan dengan Allah, dan kepedulian terhadap sesama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gereja telah berupaya menjawab kebutuhan ekonomi jemaat melalui bantuan diakonia dan program ternak babi. Namun, peran tersebut masih terbatas dan bersifat karitatif. Gereja diharapkan dapat mengembangkan program pemberdayaan yang berkelanjutan dan kontekstual sesuai potensi jemaat. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan teologi praktis dan menjadi masukan bagi gereja dalam melaksanakan panggilannya secara holistik. Kata Kunci: Gereja, Pemberdayaan Ekonomi, Jemaat, Paul Stevens, Misi Kerajaan Allah ABSTRACT This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the Toraja Church of Padang Katapi Congregation in the economic empowerment of the congregation based on Paul Stevens' theory. This theory emphasizes that the mission of the Kingdom of God includes creational stewardship, justice, economy, community development, restoration of relationships with God, and concern for others. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the church has attempted to answer the economic needs of the congregation through diaconal assistance and pig farming programs. However, this role is still limited and charitable. The church is expected to develop sustainable and contextual empowerment programs according to the potential of the congregation. This study contributes to the development of practical theology and becomes input for the church in carrying out its calling holistically.
