Abstract
Meli Krisma Dei, menyusun skripsi ini dengan judul “Studi Teologi Praktis Baptisan Kudus: Peran Orang Tua Baptis Gereja Kristen Sulawesi Tengah Elim Kancuu.” Jurusan Teologi, Fakultas Teologi dan Sosiologi Kristen, Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Toraja, Dibawah bimbingan Dr. Semuel Tokam, M.Th dan Hardi Saputra, M.Th. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana peran orang tua baptis dalam Sakramen Baptisan Kudus di GKST Jemaat Elim Kancuu, dalam perannya orang tua baptis sendiri memiliki tanggung jawab untuk mendidik dan menjadi teladan iman terhadap anak baptis dengan mengajarkan nilai-nilai kristiani serta pengenalan akan Kristus. Penelitan ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi dan buku-buku teologi yang terkait dengan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua baptis tidak dimaknai sebagaimana makna sesungguhnya yakni menjadi seorang pendidik dan teladan iman. Kata Kunci: orang tua baptis, Sakramen Baptisan Kudus, GKST, peran, teologi praktis. ABSTRACT Meli Krisma Dei wrote this thesis entitled "Practical Tehological Study of Holy Baptism: The Role of Baptist Parents in the Elim Kancuu Christian Church of Central Sulawesi." This research was conducted under the Theology and Christian Sociology Faculty, Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Toraja, under the supervision of Dr. Samuel Tokam, M.Th and Hardi Saputra, M.Th. This study aims to analyze the role of godparents in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at GKST Elim Kancuu Congregation, particularly regarding their responsibility to educate and be role models for the baptized children. However, in practice, this role is often viewed merely as a ceremonial complement. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, along with theological books relevant to the research. The results indicate that the role of godparents is not truly understood in its intended meaning, which is to become educators and role models of faith.
