Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya kasus kenakalan remaja yang menjadi tantangan serius di tengah masyarakat, termasuk di lingkungan gereja. Pokok masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran gereja dalam menanggulangi kenakalan remaja, khususnya melalui pendekatan pastoral holistik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis sejauh mana gereja, khususnya Jemaat Batusura’, menjalankan perannya dalam memberikan pembinaan terhadap remaja secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori pastoral holistik dari Howard Clinebell yang menekankan pentingnya pelayanan yang mencakup lima dimensi kehidupan manusia: spiritual, emosional, fisik, sosial, dan mental. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa peran gereja dalam menanggulangi kenakalan remaja di Jemaat Batusura’ masih belum berjalan secara maksimal dan menyeluruh. Meskipun gereja telah melakukan berbagai upaya pelayanan terhadap remaja, pelaksanaannya masih bersifat parsial, tidak terstruktur, dan belum terintegrasi secara sistematis. Hal ini menunjukkan perlunya pembaruan pendekatan pelayanan yang lebih terpadu dan konsisten agar gereja mampu berkontribusi secara efektif dalam membentuk karakter remaja yang sehat dan bertanggung jawab. Kata kunci: peran gereja, kenakalan remaja, pastoral holistik, Jemaat Batusura, pembinaan remaja ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the increasing cases of juvenile delinquency which are a serious challenge in society, including in the church environment. The main problem in this research is how the role of the church in overcoming juvenile delinquency, especially through a holistic pastoral approach. The purpose of this research is to determine and analyze the extent to which the church, especially the Batusura' Congregation, carries out its role in providing guidance to adolescents as a whole. This research uses the holistic pastoral theory of Howard Clinebell which emphasizes the importance of services that cover five dimensions of human life: spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and mental. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques through interviews. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the role of the church in overcoming juvenile delinquency in the Batusura' Congregation has not yet been running optimally and comprehensively. Although the church has made various efforts to serve adolescents, the implementation is still partial, unstructured, and not systematically integrated. This shows the need for a more integrated and consistent service approach renewal so that the church can contribute effectively in forming healthy and responsible adolescent characters.
