Abstract

Sabdel Novem D Besso, “Menjadi Berkat atau Perampas? Paham Diakonia Jemaat Sion Tanete dengan Perspektif Gustavo Gutierrez” dibimbing oleh Yekhonya F. T. Timbang, M.Si., selaku pembimbing I dan Hasrat Dewy Rante Allo, S.Th., M.MG., selaku pembimbing II. Diakonia merupakan tugas yang sangat penting bagi Gereja. Ketika gereja melakukan diakonia, hal tersebut menjadi tanda bahwa gereja menjadi bagian dari dunia dan masih “hidup”. Pada lokus penelitian, yakni Jemaat Sion Tanete Klasis Kurra Denpiku diakonia dipahami sebagai yang karitatif. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk “membaca” paham diakonia tersebut dalam perspektif Teologi Pembebasan Gustavo Gutierrez. Metode yang digunakan pada tulisan ini adalah kualitatif studi kasus dan berhasil mendapatkan data sebagai berikut: bahwa diakonia dipahami hanya sekadar memberi roti dan ikan semata, diakonia hanya menjadi bagian dari para pejabat gerejawi dan tidak adanya upaya untuk keluar dari keterbatasan pemahaman tersebut. Kata Kunci: Diakonia; Gereja; Teologi Pembebasan. ABSTRACK Sabdel Novem D Besso, “Being A Blessing Or A Usurper? The Diakonia Understanding of the Zion Tanete Congregation with the Perspective of Gustavo Gutierrez” guided by Yekhonya F.T. Timbang, M.Si., as the first supervisor and Hasrat Dewy Rante Allo, S.Th, M.MG., as the second supervisor. Diakonia is a very important task for the Church. When the church carries out diakonia, it is a sign that the church is part of the world and is still “alive”. In the research locus, namely the Zion Tanete Classis Kurra Denpiku Congregation, diakonia is understood as charitable. Therefore, this paper aims to “read” the understanding of diakonia from the perspective of Gustavo Gutierrez's Liberation Theology. The method used in this paper is a qualitative case study and has succeeded in obtaining the following data: that diakonia is understood as merely giving bread and fish, diakonia is only part of church officials and there is no effort to get out of the limitations of this understanding.
