Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konflik interpersonal yang terjadi di kalangan majelis Gereja Toraja Jemaat Elim Palopo dan dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis serta pemahaman mereka tentang panggilan pelayanan. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Studi ini menyoroti kesenjangan dalam literatur dengan secara spesifik mengkaji dinamika konflik interpersonal majelis gereja dan implikasinya terhadap aspek psikologis dan spiritual, khususnya dalam kerangka konsep kesejahteraan psikologis Carol Ryff dan teologi panggilan John Calvin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan kelompok-kelompok dominan seringkali menghambat komunikasi dan kerjasama, yang pada gilirannya menciptakan tekanan psikologis signifikan bagi majelis. Konflik-konflik ini berdampak pada keenam dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis Ryff, yaitu penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, otonomi, penguasaan lingkungan, tujuan hidup, dan pertumbuhan pribadi. Meskipun demikian, ditemukan bahwa beberapa individu majelis mampu mempertahankan komitmen spiritual dan pemahaman panggilan mereka di tengah tantangan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemahaman yang kokoh tentang panggilan pelayanan dan dukungan psikologis yang memadai sangat krusial untuk menjaga harmoni dan efektivitas dalam pelayanan gerejawi. ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the interpersonal conflicts occurring among the church council members of Gereja Toraja Jemaat Elim Palopo and their impact on psychological well-being and understanding of ministry calling. Employing a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. This study addresses a gap in the literature by specifically examining the dynamics of internal conflicts within church councils and their implications for psychological and spiritual aspects, particularly within the framework of Carol Ryff's psychological well-being concepts and John Calvin's theology of calling. The findings indicate that the presence of dominant groups often impedes communication and cooperation, subsequently creating significant psychological pressure for the council members. These conflicts affect all six dimensions of Ryff's psychological well-being: self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. Nevertheless, it was found that some individual council members managed to maintain their spiritual commitment and understanding of their calling amidst the challenges. This study concludes that a firm understanding of ministry calling and adequate psychological support are crucial for maintaining harmony and effectiveness in church service.
