Abstract

Lembang Rano Tengah merupakan wilayah yang dihuni oleh masyarakat dari latar belakang agama yang berbeda, khususnya Kristen dan Islam, yang dalam kehidupan sehari-hari menunjukkan hubungan sosial yang harmonis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran masyarakat multireligius dalam membangun toleransi dikaji dengan perspektif pendidikan Kristen di Lembang Rano Tengah. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan sekretaris Lembang Rano Tengah, Tokoh Adat, Pendeta, Majelis Gereja Toraja, dan Ustaz. Pengumpulan data juga dilakukan dengan observasi lapangan dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teori toleransi dalam masyarakat multireigius dan perspektif pendidikan Kristen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran masyarakat multireligius dalam membangun toleransi berhasil menciptakan harmonisasi dalam kehidupan yang saling menghargai dan menghormati, serta saling menopang dalam bekerja sama terhadap praktik-praktik sosial maupun keagamaan. Dalam perspektif pendidikan Kristen, peran masyarakat ini berkontribusi holistik pada dimensi spiritual dengan memperkuat iman dan kesadaran akan pemeliharaan Allah, dimensi sosial sebagai pengikat ikatan sosial dalam masyarakat multireligius. Pendidikan Kristen menjadi landasan bahwa semua manusia sama di hadapan Allah. Sehingga hal tersebut menciptakan rekonsiliasi saling mengasihi dan menciptakan keharmonisan di tengah masyarakat multireligius. Kata Kunci: Masyarakat Multireligius, Toleransi, Pendidikan Kristen ABSTRACT Lembang Rano Tengah is a region inhabited by people from different religious backgrounds, particularly Christianity and Islam, who demonstrate harmonious social relations in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the role of multireligious communities in fostering tolerance, examined through the perspective of Christian education in Lembang Rano Tengah. Using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with the secretary of Lembang Rano Tengah, traditional leaders, a pastor, church elders from the Toraja Church, and a Ustaz. Data collection was also carried out through field observations and document studies. Data analysis employed theories of tolerance in multireligious societies and the Christian education perspective. The results indicate that the role of the multireligious community in building tolerance has successfully created a harmonious life marked by mutual respect, appreciation, and cooperation in both social and religious practices. From the perspective of Christian education, this community's role contributes holistically to the spiritual dimension by strengthening faith and awareness of God's providence, and to the social dimension by fostering social bonds in a multireligious society. Christian education serves as a foundation that affirms the equality of all humans before God, thereby fostering reconciliation through love and creating harmony within the multireligious community.
