Abstract

Evitayani Tulak, 2025, menyusun skripsi dengan judul “Analisis Dampak Pola asuh single parent terhadap pembentukan karakter kristiani remaja usia 15-20 tahun di Gereja Kibaid Buntu”. Di bawah bimbingan Dr. Yonatan Sumarto, M.Th., dan Bartolomius Budi, S.Pd., M.Th. Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada kenyataan bahwa banyak anak dari keluarga single parent (ibu tunggal) mengalami tantangan dalam perkembangan karakter, yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh yang diterapkan oleh orang tua tunggal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap tiga ibu tunggal dan tiga remaja dari keluarga tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga pola asuh dominan: demokratis, otoriter, dan abai. Pola asuh demokratis menghasilkan anak yang mandiri dan bertanggung jawab, sementara pola asuh otoriter membatasi ekspresi diri anak dan pola asuh abai membuat anak rentan terhadap pengaruh negatif. Faktor-faktor seperti kesiapan mental, pengalaman masa lalu, dan pendidikan orang tua juga berperan penting dalam menentukan pola asuh yang diterapkan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan emosional dan komunikasi yang baik dalam pengasuhan untuk membentuk karakter remaja yang positif. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan bagi orang tua dan pendidik dalam mendukung pembentukan karakter remaja, khususnya dalam konteks pola asuh single parent. ABSTRACT Evitayani Tulak, in 2025, authored a thesis titled “An Analysis of the Impact of Single-Parenting Styles on the Formation of Christian Character in Teenagers Aged 15–20 Years at Kibaid Buntu Church.” The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Yonatan Sumarto, M.Th., and Bartolomius Budi, S.Pd., M.Th.The background of this study focuses on the reality that many children from single-parent (specifically single-mother) families face challenges in character development, which can be influenced by the parenting style applied by the single parent.The research employed a qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving three single mothers and three teenagers from those families.The findings reveal three dominant parenting styles: democratic, authoritarian, and neglectful. The democratic parenting style fosters independence and responsibility in the child, while the authoritarian style limits the child's self-expression, and the neglectful style makes the child more susceptible to negative influences.Factors such as mental preparedness, past experiences, and the parent's educational background play a significant role in determining the parenting style used.This study emphasizes the importance of emotional support and effective communication in parenting to help shape a positive character in teenagers. It is hoped that this research will provide insights for parents and educators in supporting character formation in adolescents, particularly within the context of single-parenting.
