ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the meaning of the Maro' tradition and its relationship to the growth of faith in the perspective of James W. Fowler's theory in Sa'dan Lembang Tampan Bonga, Bangkelekila' District. The research method used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with four informants and direct observation at the research location. The analysis was conducted using James W. Fowler's stages of faith development theory which divides faith growth into six stages. The results showed that the Maro' tradition has a deep meaning as a form of love and solidarity for the Christian Toraja community. This tradition is carried out in the form of fasting from eating rice during the funeral procession as a sign of sorrow. Maro' has a strong relationship with faith growth because it teaches the values of love, not limited to sacrifice and solidarity, which are in line with Christian teachings. The values in this tradition are passed down naturally from generation to generation through observation and direct involvement in its implementation. Keywords: Maro', faith growth, Torajan tradition.
